Museum and Historic Site Gift Shop Sale

At Bucks County Visitor Center

 

 

BUCKS COUNTY, PA (October 19, 2005) – On Saturday, November 5, 2005, the Bucks County Visitor Center will host the First Annual Museum and Historic Site Gift Shop Sale. The sale will run from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and is open to the public. This is the perfect opportunity for shoppers to find unique gifts for the holidays, the kind of things you can only find in and around Bucks County, all in one place.

 

Museums and Historic Sites from throughout the region will be setting up shop in the Bucks County Visitor Center, 3207 Street Road, Bensalem. For more information please call, 800-836-BUCKS, to speak with a Visitor Information Specialist.

Pearl S. Buck House & Historic Site

The Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winning author’s 1835 farmhouse feature’s Asian and Early American furniture and artifacts. Visitors learn about the life of this remarkable woman, humanitarian, teacher, founder of an international organization, and author of nearly 100 books. Situated on picturesque 60-acre estate.

 

From rice china to silk wall hangings, chopsticks to porcelain dolls, the best in Asian-inspired gifts are available through the Pearl S. Buck House & Historic Site. In addition to the many items that represent the author’s years in China, the gift shop also carries a wide selection of Pearl S. Buck’s award-winning novels.

Historic Society of Bensalem

The Historical Society of Bensalem Twp. has collections of pictures, postcards, deeds, books and other artifacts pertaining to Bensalem's history and surrounding areas.

Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society

PAHS is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to furthering the historical appreciation of the Philadelphia Athletics American League Baseball Club. 

 

The Society maintains a Gift Shop full of commemorative Phillies paraphernalia, and much more. From mugs and license plates, to autographed baseballs and the 2005 Phillies Yearbook, you can see it all at the Gift Shop Sale.

National Canal Museum

Discover America's canal heritage at the National Canal Museum.  Interactive, audio and video exhibits help you experience what the world was like before railroads, highways and airplanes.  Seasonal mule-drawn canal boat cruises are available at nearby Hugh Moore Park.

Bucks County Visitor Center

The Visitor Center Gift Shop will also be displaying a number of consigned products from other area shops and museums. The Bucks County Visitor Center’s gift shop features items only available in Bucks County including clothing, art work, note cards, mugs, preserves and food items from local farm markets, bicycling and walking guides and more. Gift baskets in several price ranges are also made to order.

 

About the Bucks County Visitor Center:

The Bucks County Visitor Center serves as a gateway for all travelers to the region. Located at 3207 Street Road in Bensalem, with easy access from Interstate 95, Route 1 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art center welcomes visitors in search of the best of Bucks County, including history, attractions, events, lodging, dining and shopping. Guest can “Discover Bucks County,” through the 16-minute orientation film in the 110-seat theater, pick up directions to the County’s covered bridges, find the perfect bed & breakfast for a romantic getaway, purchase one-of-a-kind Bucks County items in the Gift Shop or discuss a Bucks County travel itinerary, the Visitor Information Specialists are available to serve the public seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. – with extended summer hours of 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The Bucks County Conference & Visitors Bureau operates the Bucks County Visitor Center.
