01/06/2005     BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA WINTER EVENTS HIGHLIGHTS

BUCKS COUNTY, PAWhether it’s witnessing the reunion of the legendary lead singers of the Temptations on January 22 at the Sellersville Theater 1894, tasting “the fruits of our labor” at the Sweetheart Festival on February 12 and 13 at Sand Castle Winery, or taking part in an interactive children’s exhibition ongoing at the Mercer Museum, winter experiences in Bucks County, Pennsylvania prove that the region north of Philadelphia is a hotspot even during the darkest and coldest months.

Among upcoming event highlights, Evenings in the Colonial Kitchen features cooking demonstrations, live music and dynamic historical characters at Cock ’n Bull restaurant in Peddler’s Village on Monday nights, January through March. On January 22, Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve will hold their first Owl Prowl. The family-friendly event includes an indoor program with live owls followed by a moonlit walk. On February 2 through 6, the annual Lambertville – New Hope Winter Festival features a chili cook-off, ice carvings, special art displays and a concert by singer-songwriter Livingston Taylor. On March 13, free Charter Day events celebrate the birthday of Pennsylvania. Activities include craft demonstrations at Pennsbury Manor, the reconstructed plantation of William Penn and musket fires and drills by His Majesty’s Troops as they occupy the area around the McKonkey Ferry Inn at Washington Crossing Historic Park.

With so much happening in Bucks County, travelers will want to take advantage of the Bucks County Conference & Visitors Bureau’s “Stay a Night on Us!” package available through March 30 by booking rooms on-line at www.ExperienceBucksCounty.com.
