BUCKS COUNTY, PA – The Bucks County Conference & Visitors Bureau, Inc. (BCCVB), the official tourism promotion agency for Bucks County, Pennsylvania, announces the election of Robert J. Caruso, a 25-year-veteran of the theme park industry, to serve a two-year term on the Board of the Directors.
“We’re incredibly pleased with this fine addition to our Board of Directors,” said Keith Toler, Executive Director of the BCCVB. “Bob brings a wealth of tourism and hospitality experience to the job.”
Robert J. Caruso is Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sesame PlaceÒ, a Busch Entertainment Corporation owned by Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. He has been in this position since 1991. Mr. Caruso joined Sesame Place in 1980, working in the human resources department. He served as Vice President of Operations & Human Resources from 1985 – 1990. In his current position, he leads a team of 65 full-time and 1,500 seasonal employees. Under Mr. Caruso’s leadership, Sesame Place has grown from a 25-acre theme park to its present size of 57 acres. Mr. Caruso also sits on the Board of Directors for the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce and Variety Club. He lives in Richboro, Pennsylvania with his wife Sandra.
The BCCVB is governed by a board of directors that is comprised of eleven members appointed by the County Commissioners and up to seven members elected by the membership. The Board of Directors meets monthly to establish policy for the BCCVB. Each board member serves a term of four years. Mr. Caruso, elected by the membership, is filling the position previously held by Kathi Lacomchik. Formerly of Starr Tours, Ms. Lacomchik vacated the Board of Directors seat in 2004 to become Membership Development Manager of the BCCVB.
