12/14/2004     BUCKS COUNTY MAKES RESOLUTIONS FOR ROMANCE EASY WITH ‘STAY A NIGHT ON US!’ GETAWAY PACKAGES

BUCKS COUNTY, PA –The Bucks County Conference & Visitors Bureau (BCCVB) invites guests to experience more romance this winter with weekend getaway packages at a variety of hotels, quaint bed & breakfasts and cozy country inns. The “Stay a Night on Us!” offer continues in Bucks County, Pennsylvania from January 15 through March 30, 2005. Travelers booking a one-night stay at participating hotels will get a second night free, and those booking a two-night stay at participating bed & breakfasts and country inns will get a third night free. Visitors will experience more art and history; experience more unique shopping; experience more time in the Jacuzzi or in front of the fireplace; experience more breathtaking scenery; experience more fine dining; experience more wine tasting; and experience more pampering by booking online at www.ExperienceBucksCounty.com or by calling 1-800-836-BUCKS.

 

“With three holiday weekends this winter and the ‘Stay a Night on Us!’ offer, there’s no excuse for couples not to stick to their New Year’s resolutions for romance in Bucks County – just 30 minutes from Philadelphia and a little over an hour from New York City,” said Keith Toler, Executive Director of the BCCVB.

 

The 10 participating properties vary in style and location, allowing guests to choose an accommodation that best suits their visit. The hotels are Doubletree Club Hotel, Philadelphia; Hampton Inn Philadelphia Northeast, Bensalem; Holiday Inn Select, Trevose; and Radisson Hotel Philadelphia Northeast, Trevose. The bed & breakfasts and country inns are Art’s Fox & Hound Bed & Breakfast, New Hope; Cordials Bed & Breakfast, New Hope; Golden Plough Inn at Peddler’s Village, Lahaska; Inn to the Woods Bed & Breakfast, Washington Crossing; Mill Creek Farm Bed & Breakfast, Buckingham; and Wishing Well Guesthouse, New Hope.

 

Among the many experiences awaiting winter guests to Bucks County:

  • Evenings in the Colonial Kitchen features cooking demonstrations, live music and dynamic historical characters at Cock ’n Bull restaurant in Peddler’s Village on Monday nights, January through March.
  • Whether it’s the reunion of the legendary lead singers of the Temptations on January 22 or the ageless acoustic soul giant Richie Havens on February 4, the new season of performances at Sellersville Theater 1894 includes something for everyone.
  • A perfect pre-Valentine’s Day treat, Talley’s Folly at the Bristol Riverside Theatre, January 25 to February 13, is a heartwarming story of an accountant from St. Louis who comes down to the Ozarks to woo Miss Talley.
  • The Sweetheart Festival at Sand Castle Winery in Erwinna welcomes couples with barrel tours and tasting, plus an incredible view of the Delaware River, February 12 and 13.
  • Playing Around, an exhibition of wildly inventive toys designed and built by artists, is on view at the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, February 12 to May 22.
  • The Philadelphia Flower Show, March 6 to March 13, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center features masterpieces created by the finest florists and landscapers, culinary demonstrations, elegant afternoon tea and a marketplace of garden gifts and gadgets. The largest indoor flower show in the world is just minutes from Bucks County!
  • Free Charter Day events on March 13 celebrate the birthday of Pennsylvania. Activities include craft demonstrations at Pennsbury Manor, the reconstructed plantation of William Penn; historic house tours at Graeme Park, home to Sir William Keith, Pennsylvania Colonial Governor; and musket fires and drills by His Majesty’s Troops as they occupy the area around the McKonkey Ferry Inn at Washington Crossing Historic Park.
