09/14/2004     “STAY A NIGHT ON US!” FALL TRAVEL PACKAGES TO BUCKS COUNTY, PA

BUCKS COUNTY, PA – The Bucks County Conference & Visitors Bureau, Inc. (BCCVB) invites guests to “Stay a Night on Us!” this fall. Through December 15, 2004, travelers booking a one-night stay at participating hotels will get a second night free, and those booking a two-night stay at participating bed & breakfasts and country inns will get a third night free. Visitors can experience more of Bucks County, Pennsylvania’s breathtaking foliage and harvest festivals, haunted hayrides, nature centers and parks perfect for hiking and biking, vineyards and farm markets, arts and crafts fairs, gourmet dining and unique shopping opportunities by booking a fall travel package exclusively online at www.ExperienceBucksCounty.com.

 

“We hope that the ‘Stay a Night on Us!’ package encourages visitors to use an extra day this fall to explore more of Bucks County,” said Keith Toler, Executive Director of the BCCVB. “Whether it’s a performance at Quakertown’s historic Main Street Theatre, a visit to Byers’ Choice to watch the popular CarolersÒ figurines being made by hand, a sip or two at one of our award-winning wineries, or a short hike through Ringing Rocks Park to see the County’s largest waterfall and incredible boulder fields, a new experience awaits in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.”

 

The 10 properties offering the “Stay a Night on Us!” package vary in style and location, allowing guests to choose an accommodation that best suits their visit. The participating hotels are Hampton Inn Philadelphia Northeast, Bensalem; Holiday Inn Select, Trevose; Knights Inn, Trevose; Radisson Hotel Philadelphia Northeast, Trevose; and Doubletree Club Hotel, Philadelphia. The participating bed & breakfasts and country inns are A Wishing Well Guesthouse, New Hope; Darrah House, Warminster; Golden Plough Inn at Peddler’s Village, Lahaska; Inn to the Woods Bed & Breakfast, Washington Crossing; and Mill Creek Farm Bed & Breakfast, Buckingham.

 

Among the many activities in Bucks County this fall:

·         A wide variety of handmade creations decorate the walkways of Peddler’s Village during the annual Scarecrow Competition and Display, September 13 through October 31.

·         Wagon rides to the pumpkin patch, a giant corn maze, live entertainment and more family fun awaits visitors to Shady Brook Farm for PumpkinFest every weekend in October.

·         Some 185 artisans from the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen exhibit jewelry, sculpture, pottery, leather, stained glass and more at Tyler State Park for the Fall State Craft Festival, October 8 through 10.

·         At the Pearl S. Buck House & Historic Site, each room of an 1835 stone farmhouse tells a fascinating story of Pearl’s life as an author and humanitarian. Visit November 10 through December 31 to experience the house decorated for the holidays.

·         During Pennsbury Manor’s Holly Nights on December 9 and 10, William Penn’s recreated plantation is radiant with candles, torches, caroling, luminaries and warm mulled cider.
