COUNTLESS SUMMER EXPERIENCES AWAIT IN BUCKS COUNTY, PA

The Bucks County Conference & Visitors Bureau, Inc. is pleased to present a calendar of events for July, August and September 2004. Whether its an outdoor movie on the lawn of the Mercer Museum in Doylestown, a guided walking tour through Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve minutes from historic New Hope, a tubing trip down the Delaware River, a visit to Philadelphia Park Racetrack in Bensalem (home of champion Smarty Jones!) or a drive on scenic River Road, something new and inviting awaits visitors of every age and interest this summer in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Peddler’s Village, a country-style shopping village full of independent boutiques and landscaped gardens, will kick off the summer season in Bucks County with their first annual Celebration of Freedom featuring live entertainment, picnic foods, children’s activities and evening fireworks on July 3. Other highlights this summer include a full line-up of concerts and performances at Bensalem’s Commerce Bank Amphitheater; an early 20th-century July Fourth Celebration at Fonthill Museum featuring a decorated bike parade, pony rides, watermelon eating contests and old-time games; a comprehensive exhibition of the work of Pennsylvania Impressionist Edward Redfield at the James A. Michener Art Museum’s New Hope site; and a new multicultural festival called Colonial Crossroads at Pennsbury Manor, the home of William Penn.

With so much to see and do in Bucks County this summer, travelers will want to take advantage of the Bucks County Conference & Visitors Bureau’s “Stay a Night on Us!” package available through August 31 by booking rooms exclusively on-line at www.ExperienceBucksCounty.com. Guests will receive a free third night at participating hotels, bed & breakfasts and country inns.

Additional information and photographs are available upon request or by contacting the individual sites/organizations.
