Second Annual Pennsylvania
Spa & Golf Retreat

The retreat was held on March 14-16 at the Saybrook Point Inn & Spa in Old Saybrook, CT. Bucks County Conference and Visitors Bureau was one of the 15 sponsoring CVB's from Pennsylvania who took part in this retreat. It ‘s was designed to educate and better acquaint the Tour Operator with Pennsylvania’s many attractions and destination.

On Sunday, our guests arrived late afternoon to check-in and register for the retreat. The evening began with a cocktail reception at the resort. The group had dinner and some free time at The Mohegan Sun Casino.

The next day, The Tour Operators had a choice of a game of golf or relax and get pampered with spa treatments then enjoy a catered lunch.  That same day, there were 4 teams that went out on sales calls to local AAA offices, Travel Agencies and Tour Operators.

That evening we had dinner and the marketplace. We also had several local Tour Operators who just joined us for this part of the retreat. This was an opportunity for our guest to get to know the sponsoring delegates and to learn more about the diversified regions of Pennsylvania.

On Tuesday, we had a closing lunch.  The Tour Operators were leaving with 15 new friends from Pennsylvania.

The feedback from the operators was nothing but positive. The group was able to generate 30 leads, which was the most we have ever generated.

“Ask the Operator”

The Bucks County Conference and Visitors Bureau was proud to offer an “Ask the Operator” event during our regularly scheduled Group Marketing Meeting, which was held on Wednesday, March 10th.

This was a facilitated panel discussion had giving our group friendly members an opportunity to ask their pertinent questions about the group market.

The following Tour Operators had agreed to be part of this panel discussion.

·         Kathi Lacomchik, Starr Tours

·         Rosemary Snyder, Mid-Atlantic Treasures

·         Marian Deal Smith

We had a great turn out and thanks to everyone who participated. All feedback was positive.
