Join Henry Mercer’s favorite dog, Rollo, on a hands-on, interactive adventure in search of “escaped” animal artifacts from the museum’s collection. Along the way, children will encounter a curious collection of creatures – owl-shaped andirons, rocking horses, pottery dogs, rabbit chocolate molds, an alligator hand puppet, and many more. Designed especially for children ages 3 to 8.

Murder Mystery Dinner Theater

The James A. Michener Art Museum is pleased to announce the return of horse racing’s beloved Smarty Jones to Bucks County in 2005. 

Smarty Jones: Heart of a Champion is a special exhibition which celebrates the history of horseracing in the Keystone State, and gives local fans a chance to reconnect with Smarty Jones, the local hero who became a national sensation with his triple crown run in 2004.

Enjoy a walking tour along Philadelphia's most famous esplanade. The Schuylkill Stroll features area sculpture, history of the importance of the river and features Boathouse Row from May 15 through Sept.25. Tickets available day of tour only at the PMA Ticketing desks.

The festival promotes independent film, with an emphasis on work from the “genius belt” between New York and Philadelphia. This year, the festival also highlights a number of international independent films. The Algonquin Film Festival offers daily workshops designed to help independent filmmakers and to inform and entertain cinephiles. The 2005 festival features a screenwriting seminar by Mark Rosenthal (Mona Lisa Smile and Jewel of the Nile). Film historian Judy Swizer discusses experimental film and screens a surrealist film by Salvador Dali. Entertainment lawyer Bernie Resnick offers commentary during one of numerous educational panel discussions. Film preservationist Lou DiCrisenzo presents an exhibition of lost film comedies of the 30’s and 40’s.

Ticket prices are $32.00 for a day pass (seniors and students, $20.00 with valid ID), $99.00 for a four day pass ($60.00 for students and seniors). Half day tickets are $20.00 ($14.00 for students and seniors). Single tickets for individual films, when available, are $10.00 ($6.00 seniors and students). This exhibition features posters from fifteen countries spanning 60 years including films involving artists with Bucks County connections such as Oscar Hammerstein, Patricia Highsmith, and James A. Michener.

The New Hope and Ivyland Railroad will operate passenger trains from the New Hope train station all the way to Warminster, PA and return. Passengers will get the rare opportunity to view the beauty of spring over the length of the entire railroad. This route, which many have said is the most scenic portion of the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad, is only used for regularly scheduled, through passenger service on special occasions!

Passengers can board at two locations;

One: the historic, Victorian New Hope train station located at 32 West Bridge Street, New Hope, PA, one block west from the intersection of Bridge and Main St in downtown New Hope, PA.
