First Ladies Tea Parties:  Visitors coming to see "First Ladies: Political Role and Public Image" will have the opportunity to add the "First Ladies Tea Parties to their package for an additional cost.  Tea parties will be held on select Saturday afternoons and will include a delicious assortmnet of beverages, pastries, and finger foods. Reservations required.

The Annual Peddler’s Village Gingerbread Construction Demonstration will be held Thursday, October 11, 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Culinary expert Deborah Lang will conduct the demonstration at Foxbriar Farm in Peddler’s Village. The demonstration is held in conjunction with 27th Annual Gingerbread House Competition & Display from November 16, 2007 through January 3, 2008.

Deadline to enter the competition is November 2, 2007. Entries will be displayed in the Village Gazebo from November 16, 2007 through January 3, 2008.

Prizes worth than $4,000 will be awarded in six categories: Traditional; Authentic Reproduction of a Significant Building; Incredibly Unusual 3-Dimensional Creation; Amateur Creation; Student Gingerbread Creation for ages 13-18; and Kids Only! Gingerbread Creations for ages 12 & under.

Nov 1-30 Bring a nonperishable food item for $1 off admission. Food donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania. Create Sunshine Kindness cards to be distributed by the Food Bank.

Nov 7-13 Celebrate Claude Monet's birthday, use oil pastels, create one-of-a-kind masterpieces

Nov 14-21 Celebrate Georgia O'Keefe's birthday, create a flower picture using Watercolors

Nov 17 Create faux gingerbread house in this guided workshop from 1-3 pm ($10); call for reservations

Tina Barrows has extensive expertise in teaching and demonstrating pie basket making including Artist-in-Residence stints at more than 10 school districts in both PA and NJ. The basket will have a solid wood bottom and wrap-around oak handle.  Natural dyes will also be discussed.
