In the last twenty years video art has assumed an increasingly significant role in the art world, with exhibits by leading artists now commonplace in major art museums.  Since 1965 PeterRose has been making films and videos that deal with issues of perception, time, the structure of language, and cultural mythology.  This exhibit will present two recent video pieces in which Rose has created complex meditations on how we perceive the land around us.

The Annual Peddler’s Village Gingerbread Construction Demonstration will be held Thursday, October 11, 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Culinary expert Deborah Lang will conduct the demonstration at Foxbriar Farm in Peddler’s Village. The demonstration is held in conjunction with 27th Annual Gingerbread House Competition & Display from November 16, 2007 through January 3, 2008.


Deadline to enter the competition is November 2, 2007. Entries will be displayed in the Village Gazebo from November 16, 2007 through January 3, 2008.


Prizes worth than $4,000 will be awarded in six categories: Traditional; Authentic Reproduction of a Significant Building; Incredibly Unusual 3-Dimensional Creation; Amateur Creation; Student Gingerbread Creation for ages 13-18; and Kids Only! Gingerbread Creations for ages 12 & under.
